Eagles Performance Academy, a rising local football powerhouse, soared to new heights during their debut appearance at the prestigious Engen Knockout Challenge, held at Erica Park from Friday, 11th July to Sunday, 13th July.
Representing heart, skill, and ambition, the Eagles stepped onto the pitch with determination and left an indelible mark on the tournament. Placed in a challenging group stage, they faced off against SAFA Cape Town Academy, Eyethu FC, and Westridge FC—emerging victorious in all three matches to top their group with flair.
Road to the Final:
- Quarterfinal: Eagles vs Everton FC – a tightly contested match saw the Eagles edge out Everton 1-0.
- Semifinal: A tactical and spirited battle against Valhalla United ended in success, propelling the Eagles into the grand finale.
- Final Match: Facing the formidable Cape Town City FC, the Eagles put up a valiant fight. Though they were ultimately defeated 3-1, their performance was nothing short of commendable.
